English- 4 years required (ENG I, II, III required)
Science- 2 years required Social Sciences- 2 years required. Passing US History I is required. Students must pass the IL/Fed constitution requirement if they did not in junior high. Students in the Class of 2020 and beyond are required to pass Civics (.5 credit), or at least one semester of AP Gov. Math- 3 years including Algebra and Geometry content 3 credit of PE unless academic, medical, sports or credit waivers are used Adult Living/Consumer Education- This requirement can be fulfilled with Adult Living (.5 credit) or Ag Business Management or Ag Sales Marketing (1 credit). Taken as a junior or senior. Health .50 credit Driver's Education class .25 credit A minimum of 29 total credits is required to graduate *The Class of 2019 and beyond will also be required to have 10 service hours prior to graduating. This may be altered due to Covid-19, but currently is required for the Class of 2021. Seniors interested in graduating mid-year need to meet with Mrs. Lair to review requirements. An essay is also required. Beginning with the class of 2021, the application deadline is May 1 of junior year. There is an extension on this due to Covid-19. For 20-21, the deadline is September 15. |
To the left are ROWVA's minimum requirements. Many colleges/universities have additional requirements that students must meet in order to be accepted for college admissions. Please be advised that most schools want 3 years of science, 3 years of social studies, and 4 years of both Math and English. They usually also require 2 years of a foreign language.
Dual credit classes (college courses taken in high school) have had a successful transfer rate. We typically offer ENG101/102, PSY101 and SOC 101, SPE120 and one additional class that varies from year to year. Please become familiar with itransfer.org if taking dual credit classes. |
